Conclusion
Our experiment proved our hypothesis incorrect, but only in a very minor way. We hypothesized that the coefficient of friction of the fabric would be smaller than the wood; however, it was not. In every other way, our hypothesis was correct, and we succeeded in demonstrating which material would cause less friction in a conveyor belt. We predict that our error is probably moderate, because we did not have a definite way of applying the .5 N every time, and it had to be done by hand. This might account for the switch between the control surface and the fabric.
